Senior Manager Commercial Sales

📍 Location: Malawi

Job Purpose

The successful candidate will plan, monitor, and ensure achievement of customer and revenue market share objectives for regional operations by supervising and influencing multiple teams to deliver operational excellence in customer service, channel management, and distribution expansion.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and implement regional sales strategies aligned with overall business goals.
• Drive quality subscriber growth for GSM, Data/HBB, Mpamba, and other KPIs.
• Manage churn, revenue growth, minutes of use, and Mpamba transactions.
• Improve primary sales and Mpamba E-value availability across clusters.
• Implement distribution targets per site and cluster.
• Audit and review channel partners and distributors for healthy ROI.
• Expand distribution infrastructure including branches and kiosks.
• Motivate frontline staff and promote high performance.
• Conduct market and trade audits to identify and address gaps.
• Enhance market visibility through trade marketing activities.
• Identify new coverage opportunities and conduct market dimensioning.
• Prepare operational reports and contribute to Sales and Distribution BOD reports.

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree in Business Management, Marketing, Business Administration, Commerce, or related field.
• MBA is an added advantage.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in Sales & Marketing.
• At least 2 years’ experience at middle management level.
• Telecom industry experience required.
• Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong understanding of sales systems and processes.
• Creative and entrepreneurial mindset with sound consumer knowledge.
