POSITION: INTERNAL AUDIT MANAGER
Location: Lilongwe
A. INTRODUCTION
Airport Developments Limited (ADL) is a wholly-owned Malawian Government enterprise, originally incorporated under the English Companies Statutes of 1908 and 1913. As the custodian of Malawi’s gateway to the world, ADL manages Kamuzu and Chileka International Airports, Likoma Aerodrome, and all public aerodromes across the country.
Our mission is to deliver world-class aviation infrastructure, ensure the safe and seamless movement of passengers and cargo, and drive socio-economic growth through environmentally sustainable airport management. To strengthen our executive leadership team, we are seeking highly competent and visionary professionals to fill the following strategic position at our Head Office in Lumbadzi, Lilongwe.
POSITION: INTERNAL AUDIT MANAGER
Reports to: Board Audit Committee (administratively to the Chief Executive Officer)
Role Overview
The Internal Audit Manager will lead the independent evaluation and strengthening of ADL’s accounting, operational, and internal control systems, ensuring that policies are applied effectively and risks are managed appropriately.
Key Competencies & Skills Required
Sound knowledge of current professional auditing standards, procedures, and reporting requirements.
Expertise in evaluating operating systems, associated risks, and internal controls.
Proficiency in computer-assisted audit techniques.
Ability to gather, analyze, and report on complex data objectively.
High professionalism, integrity, and adherence to the Code of Ethics for Internal Auditors.
Ability to work independently and travel extensively as required.
Mandatory Qualifications & Work Experience
Master’s Degree in Auditing or Accounting.
Bachelor’s Degree in Auditing or Accounting.
A recognized professional qualification in Auditing or Accounting.
A minimum of five (5) years of senior-level auditing or accounting experience.
