POSITION: TEMPORARY TRANSCRIBERS (20 POSITIONS)
OVERVIEW
The Transcriber will work as part of the Implementation Science Team at Partners in Hope. This position will be responsible for transcribing/translating IDIs, FDGs and Data collection tools. Thewill meet the needs of short-term qualitative projects within the Implementation Science Department.
Primary Responsibilities
a) Transcribe IDI or FDG audios from local languages to English.
b) Translate and back translate data collection tools.
c) Submit transcripts and reports within specific timeline as requested.
d) Ensure detailed, accurate and organized transcribing/translating of materials
e) Ensure translations are completed according to protocol and always adhere to ethical research procedures.
f) Conduct data quality checks, including reviewing transcripts in line with interview guides and proof leading transcripts, where necessary.
g) Communicate with the research team about issues emerging for IDIs and provide feedback to Field Assistants as requested.
h) Ensure data security of audios, transcripts and any research material.
i) Serve as a member of the research team and participate in meetings as scheduled and requested by the research team.
j) Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· Diploma in Social Science, Humanities, Public Health, or any other relevant field. Those with a degree or higher will have an added advantage.
· Minimum 1-year experience working on research projects, preferably in a related role. Those with experience doing similar work on a public health project will have an added advantage.
· Experience in qualitative data collection (FDGs, IDIs, KIIs, etc).
