POSITION: BRICKLAYER (PLASTERING & FINISHING)

Location: Lilongwe

OVERVIEW

Shacon Ltd is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals to join our team as Bricklayers with strong plastering and finishing skills.

Job Summary:

The Bricklayer will be responsible for carrying out brickwork, blockwork, plastering, and finishing works on construction projects. The successful candidate must be skilled in producing quality workmanship, including smooth finishes, accurate measurements, and proper alignment of structures while ensuring all works are completed according to project specifications and safety standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Construct brick walls, block walls, partitions, and other masonry structures

Carry out plastering works including internal and external finishes

Perform quality finishing works such as smooth surfaces, rendering, and decorative finishes

Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications

Ensure proper alignment, levels, and measurements during construction works

Prepare and apply mortar, plaster, and other construction materials

Repair and maintain masonry structures where required

Ensure proper use and care of tools and equipment

Maintain high standards of workmanship and quality control

Follow all health and safety procedures on site

Minimum Requirements:

Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or equivalent

Trade Test Certificate Grade 1 or Grade 2 in Bricklaying/Masonry will be an added advantage

Minimum of 3 years practical experience as a Bricklayer

Must have strong skills in plastering and finishing works

Ability to work with minimum supervision

Experience in construction projects will be an added advantage
