POSITION: ELECTRICIAN
Location: Lilongwe & Salima
OVERVIEW
Shacon Ltd is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the position of Electrician in Lilongwe and Salima.
Reporting To: Site Agent/Foreman
Job Summary:
The Electrician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, testing, and repairing electrical systems, equipment, wiring, and related installations. The role requires ensuring that all electrical works are carried out safely and in compliance with technical standards. The successful candidate will perform electrical fault finding, preventive maintenance, repairs, and installations while ensuring reliability and safety of electrical systems within the organization's projects and facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, wiring, and equipment
Conduct electrical fault finding, testing, and troubleshooting
Carry out electrical installations in accordance with safety standards
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems
Install and maintain lighting systems, sockets, switches, and electrical equipment
Read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications
Ensure compliance with electrical safety requirements
Maintain tools and equipment properly
Follow workplace health and safety procedures
And any other duties as may be assigned from time to time
Qualifications and Experience:
Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or equivalent
Must have a Trade Test Certificate Grade 1 or Grade 2 in the relevant field
Minimum of 3 years practical experience as an Electrician
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
Good communication and problem-solving skills
Experience in construction/industrial projects will be an added advantage
