Role Summary

Our client is seeking a Financing & Fundraising Expert to support resource mobilisation, investment planning, and financing strategies for energy sector initiatives. The role will focus on identifying funding opportunities, supporting investment readiness, and strengthening financing approaches that accelerate programme delivery and long-term sustainability.

Role and Responsibilities

Support development of financing and resource mobilisation strategies.

Contribute to investment planning and project financing approaches.

Support engagement with financiers, development partners, investors, and funding institutions.

Conduct financial analysis and provide recommendations to support decision-making.

Contribute to development of bankable opportunities and investment pipelines.

Support innovative financing approaches and partnership development.

Contribute to production of financial reports, analyses, and stakeholder-facing materials.

Key Deliverables

Financing Strategy and Financing Matrix.

Fundraising and Resource Mobilisation Strategy.

Bankable Project Pipeline and Funding Analysis Reports.

Financing Opportunities Assessment across Energy and Related Sectors.

Quarterly Financial Progress and Resource Mobilisation Reports.

Requirements

Experience Required

Minimum 8 years of experience in project finance, investment banking, infrastructure finance, or DFI-funded programmes.

Proven experience mobilising investment and donor financing.

Technical Requirements

Master’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.

Expertise in PPPs, blended finance, and project finance.

Strong financial modelling and analytical capability.

Other Skills

Negotiation and relationship management.

Strategic thinking.

Strong communication and presentation skills.

Working Arrangement

Based full-time in Lilongwe, with periodic travel within Malawi as required.

Terms of Agreement

Start Date: To be confirmed

Contracting Period: 12 months
