POSITION: TECHNICIANS


Location: Nchalo, Dwangwa, Blantyre, and Lilongwe



OVERVIEW 

Farming and Engineering Services Limited (FES), a leading supplier and service provider of premium agricultural and construction equipment, including Massey Ferguson and Challenger tractors, Komatsu machinery, Trimble GPS solutions, and Baldan farm implements, is inviting applications from suitably qualified, dynamic, and experienced individuals to fill the position of Technician based at our Nchalo, Dwangwa, Blantyre, and Lilongwe branches in Malawi.


Minimum Qualifications and Experience


Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE).


Grade 1 Motor Vehicle Mechanic, Auto Electrical, or Electrical Technician Certificate.


A Diploma in Motor Vehicle Mechanics or a related engineering field will be an added advantage.


A valid driver’s licence.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and customers.


Good problem-solving and analytical skills.


Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).


Good written and spoken English, including report-writing skills.


The ability to work independently and as part of a team.


Key Responsibilities


Achieving workshop productivity, efficiency, and utilisation targets by completing assigned jobs within the required timelines.


Providing high-quality workmanship by repairing customers’ earth-moving equipment, generators, agricultural implements, vehicles, and motorcycles using the “Fix It Right First Time” principle to minimise repeat repairs.


Conducting pre-delivery inspections (PDI) on new earth-moving equipment, generators, and implements before customer delivery.


Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and auto-electrical faults accurately and carrying out effective repairs.


Promptly identifying and reporting equipment defects by preparing and submitting defect reports to the Workshop Supervisor.


Accurately recording labour hours and work completed on job cards.


Ensuring all repairs meet the Company’s quality standards and minimise comeback costs.


Using lubricants, spare parts, consumables, and workshop materials efficiently to minimise waste and control costs.


Ensuring that all materials collected are used solely for their intended purpose.


Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment in accordance with Company health and safety standards.


Caring for Company tools and equipment and reporting any defects or losses promptly.
