POSITION: AGRICULTURE AND AGRIBUSINESS INSTRUCTOR
Location. Chilangoma, Blantyre
ORGANISATIONAL CONTEXT
Stephanos Foundation is a Reformed Christian faith-based international non-governmental organisation (NGO) located in Chilangoma, Chileka, Blantyre, Malawi. Established in Malawi in 1994 through an initiative that originated in the Netherlands, the Foundation is committed to improving the welfare of orphans and vulnerable children through various care and development programmes. Stephanos Foundation is duly registered with the Council for Non-Governmental Organisations in Malawi (CONGOMA), the NGO Regulatory Authority (NGORA), and the Employers’ Consultative Association of Malawi (ECAM).
The Stephanos Foundation is therefore inviting applications from suitably qualified, experienced, and motivated individuals to fill the following four positions, which are full-time, three-year contracts, based at Chilangoma in Blantyre.
POSITION: AGRICULTURE AND AGRIBUSINESS INSTRUCTOR
Reporting to: The Principal
Job Purpose
To deliver quality, competency-based training in Agriculture and Agribusiness by planning and implementing effective teaching, learning, and assessment programmes that equip learners with practical agricultural and entrepreneurial skills. The position is responsible for mentoring apprentices, managing training resources, supporting curriculum development, and ensuring compliance with examining trade board requirements and TEVET standards to enhance learner competence and employability.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, prepare, and deliver competency-based Agriculture and Agribusiness training programmes that promote active learning.
Develop schemes of work and lesson plans, and assess learners through assignments, tests, and practical evaluations.
Supervise and mentor apprentices while fostering a conducive, disciplined, and supportive learning environment.
Manage and safeguard trade tools, classrooms, and training materials, ensuring adequate supplies are maintained.
Collaborate with relevant authorities and colleagues in curriculum development and ensure training aligns with examining trade board requirements and TEVET standards.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must possess either:
Diploma in Agriculture, Agri-Business, or Horticulture
At least three (3) years’ relevant work experience.
