POSITION: ROBOTICS TECHNICIAN (2 POSITIONS)

Location: Blantyre


OVERVIEW

Robotics Foundation Ltd is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Robotics Technician. The successful candidate will provide technical support in assembling, maintaining, and troubleshooting robotics kits and equipment; assist in training students and teachers on robotics and electronics; and support the delivery of STEM programs and competitions.

Reports to: Programs Manager / Operations Manager

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or related field.

Hands-on experience in robotics, electronics, or related technical areas.

Knowledge of programming languages for robotics (e.g., C++, Python, Java) is an advantage.

Familiarity with microcontrollers (Arduino, REV Robotics, etc.) preferred.

Basic skills in 3D printing, CAD, or prototyping desirable.

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Practical, hands-on approach to technical work.

Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Good communication and teamwork skills.

High level of integrity and commitment to youth development.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Assemble, test, and maintain educational and industrial robotics kits.

Provide technical support during workshops, bootcamps, and competitions.

Assist in developing instructional materials for robotics training.

Train and mentor students and teachers in robotics, electronics, and programming.

Troubleshoot hardware and software issues in robotics kits and equipment.

Maintain inventory of robotics tools, components, and consumables.

Support the design and prototyping of new robotics products or components.

Ensure adherence to safety standards during practical sessions.

Prepare technical reports and documentation as needed.
