POSITION: DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES AND ADMINISTRATION

OVERVIEW
MBC is Malawi's national public service broadcaster, established under the Communications Act, 2016. As a public broadcasting services licensee, MBC is mandated to inform, educate, and entertain the public through objective, professional and independent broadcasting.
To strengthen its executive leadership team, MBC invites applications from suitably qualified, experienced and dynamic Malawian professionals to fill the following Executive Management position:
Position: Director of Human Resources and Administration
Contract: 3-Year Performance-Based Contract
Location: MBC Head Office, Blantyre
This is a highly demanding strategic leadership role. We are seeking a visionary and innovative HR leader who will provide policy guidance and initiate operational, human resource, and administrative innovations geared at making MBC a rejuvenated, vibrant and competitive Corporation.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
• Academic: A Master's Degree AND a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management or Public Administration or Business Administration from recognized and accredited institutions. • Professional Membership: Full membership of the Institute of People Management Malawi (IPMM) or an equivalent recognized national/international HR professional body. • Work Experience: Minimum ten (10) years post-graduate work experience, with at least five (5) years at Executive Management level within a reputable public or private institution, with proven track record in strategic leadership, policy formulation, organizational transformation and Board governance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Formulating, implementing, monitoring and reviewing HR and administrative policies. • Overseeing recruitment, talent management, staff development and performance/reward systems. • Providing authoritative advisory on HR policies and compliance with Labour Laws. • Coordinating Board and Board Committee affairs and providing secretariat support. • Overseeing cross-cutting issues: HIV/AIDS, gender mainstreaming, climate change. • Overseeing procurement, works and buildings activities. • Consolidating and implementing departmental budgets. • Supervising staff and appraising performance of HR and Administration Managers. • Preparing statutory and Government reports and management reports.
