POSITION: MARKETING OFFICER

OVERVIEW
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the vacant position of Marketing Officer tenable at Exploits University Mzuzu Campus:
1. MARKETING OFFICER
Job Summary
This post is responsible for the development and implementation of the marketing and advertising plans for all programmes, including generation of enquiries, conversion, and recruitment/enrolment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Planning
To develop marketing strategies for the University in line with the strategic objectives of the University.
To undertake and coordinate the provision of market intelligence to provide insights into market conditions, pricing, portfolio development, competitor activity and customer behavior in the Malawi marketplace.
To keep up to date with external changes affecting student recruitment and advise on policy.
To identify other event opportunities to support recruitment/enrolment objectives.
To undertake and coordinate an advertising strategy and to manage the planning, delivery and evaluation of advertising in priority markets in line with the marketing programmes operational plan and university objectives.
2. Management of Resources
To manage the budget of the programme marketing function, ensure purchase orders are raised and that University Finance regulations are adhered to.
To manage the content, use and distribution of printed and electronic student recruitment marketing material.
3. Marketing Campaigns
To manage the development and implementation of marketing and advertising campaigns to generate enquiries, convert enquirers and to convert applicants for both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
To assist on the work on the strategic development of the University website and to ensure the website closely reflects the student experience needs of the institution with regard to recruitment and marketing.
Exploring other sources of revenue generation in collaboration with other University departments including Faculty and Research.
4. Liaison
To work closely with Deans and other staff in faculties to manage the involvement of professional and academic staff in marketing and student recruitment activities.
To work closely with University Registry to ensure admissions policy and procedures are adhered, to provide the best customer service for applicants.
To work closely with external partners, particularly schools, to oversee development of appropriate relationships and partnerships with stakeholder and feeder institutions.
5. Public Relations
Liaison with academic and administrative staff to request and collate information for in-house publications.
Liaison with, and providing information to, the media and arranging interviews with members of staff where necessary.
Updating the School's PR notice boards.
Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Supervisor.
Qualification ad Work Experience
Candidates should have a Degree or an advanced diploma in Marketing, Business Management or relevant field obtained from a reputable university.
A minimum of three (3) years experience in similar position.
A minimum of three (3) years experience in similar marketing and promotion of products and services.
Practical experience in digital marketing, e-commerce, graphic designs will be essential attributes.
Must possess marketing and advertising industry knowledge.
Previous experience in Universities and colleges will be an added advantage.
Skills and Abilities
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent command of spoken and written English and Chichewa.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access and Power Point) and familiarity with internet.
Relationship management skills and openness to feedback.
Ability to build productive business professional relationships.
Ability to create and deliver presentations tailored to the audience needs.
Ability to prioritize work.
Ability to work in team environment and ability to multitask.
