About Rayyan Academy
Rayyan Academy, a private Islamic boys’ boarding secondary school in Likuni, Lilongwe, is seeking a qualified and experienced Biology and Chemistry Teacher to join its founding team.
The successful candidate will contribute to academic excellence through effective teaching, laboratory practicals, learner assessment, and preparation for Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB) examinations.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Biology and Chemistry at secondary school level.
- Plan and deliver effective lessons aligned with the relevant curriculum.
- Conduct laboratory practicals while maintaining laboratory safety standards.
- Prepare learners for MANEB examinations.
- Assess learner performance and provide appropriate academic support.
- Maintain effective classroom management and professional teaching standards.
- Uphold the Academy’s Islamic ethos and commitment to academic excellence.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Science Education, or a related field, together with a recognised teaching qualification.
- At least five (5) years of secondary school teaching experience in Biology and Chemistry.
- Registration with the Teachers Council of Malawi (TCM) and a valid teaching licence.
- Demonstrated experience in laboratory practicals, laboratory safety, and MANEB examination preparation.
- Strong classroom management, lesson planning, assessment, and learner-support skills.
- Commitment to academic excellence, professionalism, and the Academy’s Islamic ethos.
