POSITION: PROJECT OFFICER
Location: Lilongwe
OVERVIEW
JONEHA seeks to recruit a capable individual for the position of Project Officer for the COMET 2 Project and therefore invites expressions of interest from qualified personnel to fill the position.
Background
The Network of Journalists Living with HIV (JONEHA) a nationally registered organization whose vision is effective media advocate for quality health service with a mission to ensure access of quality health care services for all received a grant from International Treatment and Preparedness (ITPC) to implement the Community Monitoring and Engagement for Transformation (COMET) project component 2. The aim of the project is to generate CLM evidence and health budget monitoring data to inform national HIV Prevention policy and financing shifts specifically for Long-Acting HIV tools, strengthen civil society engagement in national HIV decision-making, track budgets, prevention policies, and policy commitments and use community data to influence domestic resource mobilization and priority-setting at national and regional levels.
Roles and Responsibilities for Project Officer
Reporting to the Programs Manager.
Develop implementation plans including timelines, budgets and advocacy strategies
Leading project implementation and coordination. Including overseeing project activities with various departments and teams
Lead data collection, analysis and documentation
Monitor project progress, expenditures, and performance against KPIs.
Identify and manage project risks, and develop appropriate risk mitigation strategies
Coordinate and provide support to COMET district supervisors to enhance timely achievement of deliverables
Prepare progress reports and briefs for management and the donor
Provide support in the development of project proposals and plans
Assist in the selection of external contractors and vendors
Any other duties as may be assigned
Required qualifications and experience
Degree in Economics, Data Management, Statistics, or any related field; with at least three (3) years of community work experience and or research.
Skills:
Strong ability to manage donor funded projects.
Ability to work effectively with government and multidisciplinary teams.
Strong supervisory, organizing Planning and team playing
Demonstrated ability to perform complex data analytics utilizing Microsoft Excel and/or business intelligence tools and ai;
Demonstrated ability to prepare expert quality data visualizations and a working knowledge of Malawi’s health service information systems and monitoring and evaluation processes as they relate to data collection for performance-based reporting; and
Working knowledge and experience on community monitoring & accountability programs will be an added advantage
High familiarity working with marginalized and affected populations
Attributes

Familiarity working under strict deadlines.
