Department: Fleet & Logistics

Job Purpose

The Landini Solis Tractor Operator (FN 1007) is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a Landini Solis 

tractor and its attachments in support of agricultural, construction, landscaping, or earthworks activities. The 

operator is responsible for operating, inspecting, maintaining, and ensuring the proper use of tractor equipment to 

achieve productivity targets while complying with health, safety, and environmental requirements. Tractor 

operators are expected to operate machinery safely, transport materials, and perform routine equipment 

maintenance. 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

1. Tractor Operations

• Operate the Landini Solis Tractor FN 1007 safely and efficiently. 

• Perform ploughing, grading, hauling, towing, ripping, land preparation, and material transportation 

activities as assigned. 

• Operate tractor-mounted implements and attachments including trailers, ploughs, harrows, graders, 

slashers, and water bowsers. 

• Ensure equipment is operated within manufacturer specifications and safe operating limits. 

• Follow supervisor instructions and work schedules. 

2. Equipment Inspection and Maintenance

• Conduct daily pre-start and shutdown inspections. 

• Check engine oil, coolant, hydraulic fluids, fuel levels, tyres, lights, brakes, and safety devices. 

• Perform routine cleaning and preventive maintenance. 

• Report defects, breakdowns, and maintenance requirements immediately. 

• Maintain accurate equipment logbooks and inspection records. 

• Assist mechanics during servicing and repair activities. 

3. Safety and Compliance

• Comply with company Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies. 

• Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times. 

• Conduct work in accordance with safe operating procedures. 

• Ensure no unauthorized persons ride on the tractor. 

• Observe safe speeds and operating practices, particularly on uneven terrain and slopes. 

• Immediately report accidents, incidents, and near misses. 

• Stop operations where unsafe conditions exist. Tractor operators should only operate machinery they are 

trained to use and follow established safety procedures. 

4. Material Handling and Transport

• Transport materials, equipment, tools, and supplies to designated locations. 

• Ensure loads are properly secured before movement. 

• Monitor load limits and avoid overloading equipment. 

• Assist with loading and unloading activities where required. 

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas. 

5. Site and Farm Support

• Support agricultural, civil works, landscaping, or infrastructure activities. 

• Assist with land preparation, irrigation works, haulage, and site maintenance. 

• Work closely with supervisors, mechanics, and other equipment operators. 

• Participate in toolbox talks and safety meetings.
