OVERVIEW 

NBS Bank Plc invites applications from suitably qualified and interested candidates to fill the following vacancies in Corporate Banking and GIO, tenable in Blantyre.



RELATIONSHIP MANAGER (CORPORATE BANKING)


JOB PURPOSE  

Reporting to the Head of Corporate Banking, the successful candidate’s responsibility will be to drive portfolio growth and income generation by developing and maintaining strong client relationships, ensuring client retention and delivering efficient NBS Bank products and services in line with the Bank’s approved risk appetite.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES  

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:


Develop and implement portfolio business and sales plans aligned to the Bank’s overall strategy.

Analyze market trends, industry developments and portfolio performance to identify new business opportunities.

Drive revenue growth through selling and cross selling of the bank’s products and services including assets, liabilities, trade finance and digital.

Build and manage strong client relationships to increase wallet share, enhance customer loyalty and improve retention.

Identify and onboard new business in line with the bank’s appetite.

Assess, structure and recommend credit facilities in line with risk and compliance requirements.

Monitor portfolio performance against budget and targets and implement corrective actions where necessary.

Ensure high-quality service delivery in line with SLAs.

Monitor credit quality and minimize non-performing loans.

Ensure strict adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, procedures, and audit standards, including KYC and compliance guidelines.

Collaborate with internal teams to deliver integrated client solutions.

Contribute to product development and enhancement by providing market intelligence, customer feedback and identifying emerging needs.

Prepare and submit accurate and timely portfolio performance, sales and management reports to support decision making.


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE


Bachelor’s Degree in Banking & Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Sales & Marketing or a related field.

Minimum of 5 to 7 years’ experience in Corporate or Commercial Banking, with at least 3 years at a supervisory or relationship management level.

Proven track record in managing corporate client portfolios, driving revenue growth and delivering business development targets.

Strong experience in credit analysis, structuring facilities and trade finance solutions.


RELATIONSHIP MANAGER (GOVERNMENT & INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS)


JOB PURPOSE  

Reporting to the Head of Government & International Organizations, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing and growing the Government business portfolio. The role will focus on developing and maintaining strong relationships with Government Ministries, Departments, Agencies and other institutional stakeholders, navigating complex stakeholder environments, driving portfolio growth, income generation and delivering efficient banking solutions in line with the Bank’s risk appetite.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES  

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:


Develop and implement portfolio business and relationship plans for the government business portfolio, aligned to the Bank’s overall strategy.

Analyze market trends, government policy developments and portfolio performance to identify new business opportunities within the public sector.

Drive revenue growth through offering and structuring the Bank’s products and services, including deposits, payments, collections, trade finance and digital solutions.

Build and manage strong relationships with Government Ministries, Departments, Agencies and other key institutional stakeholders.

Identify and onboard new business opportunities in line with the Bank’s risk appetite and mandate requirements.

Manage and coordinate engagements within complex government and institutional stakeholder environments to support business growth and service delivery.

Assess, structure and recommend credit facilities in line with risk, compliance and public sector credit policies.

Monitor business portfolio performance against budgets and targets and implement corrective actions where necessary.

Ensure high-quality service delivery to clients in line with agreed service level agreements.

Monitor credit quality within portfolio and support initiatives to minimize non-performing exposures.

Ensure strict adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, procedures, audit standards and applicable financial regulations.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver integrated and efficient solutions for clients.


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE


Bachelor’s Degree in Banking & Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Sales & Marketing or a related field.

Minimum of 5 to 7 years’ experience in Banking, with at least 3 years at supervisory or Relationship Management level.

Proven track record in managing client portfolios, driving revenue growth and delivering business development targets.

Strong experience in credit analysis, structuring credit facilities and delivering trade finance solutions.

Experience in Government, Public Sector, or Institutional Banking will be an added advantage.
