About the Opportunity

Concern Worldwide is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced candidate for the position of Programme Officer – Gender and Nutrition under a four-month humanitarian response project in Nsanje District.

Key Responsibilities

Promote gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls.
Conduct gender-awareness and community-sensitisation activities.
Integrate nutrition-sensitive programming into project activities.
Provide nutrition education on breastfeeding, infant and young child feeding, and balanced diets.
Collaborate with health facilities, Health Surveillance Assistants and community structures.
Support safeguarding, protection, complaints handling and referrals for vulnerable people.

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Gender Studies, Social Work, Public Health, Nutrition or a related field.
At least 3 years of experience in gender, protection or nutrition-related roles within humanitarian or development projects.
Experience in gender mainstreaming, protection and safeguarding.
Knowledge of Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) policies.
Experience in nutrition programmes targeting vulnerable groups.
Strong community-engagement and sensitisation skills.
Excellent communication skills in Chichewa and English.
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
