ABOUT THE POSITION

Central Park Bar and Grill, based in Balaka, is inviting applications from suitably qualified, experienced, hardworking and customer-focused individuals for the position of Chef.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing quality meals, maintaining food safety and hygiene standards, managing kitchen operations and ensuring customer satisfaction.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare and cook a variety of high-quality meals according to the establishment's menu.
Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene and safety.
Manage kitchen operations efficiently, especially during busy hours.
Monitor food supplies, ingredients and kitchen stock to minimise wastage.
Keep the kitchen and cooking equipment clean and organised.
Work effectively with other staff members to ensure excellent customer service.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or equivalent.
Must be between 25 and 40 years of age.
Proven experience working as a Chef in a busy restaurant, hotel, bar and grill or similar establishment.
A certificate in professional cookery, catering or a related field will be an added advantage.
Ability to prepare a variety of meals while maintaining quality and consistency.
Good communication skills, discipline and creativity.
Ability to work under pressure.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays when required.
